The SPARK: NANOWRIMO Library Story, November 1-30 – To celebrate National Novel Writing Month, contribute to an ongoing story that will be displayed in The SPARK by adding a sentence a day. What story will we have at the end of the month? For all ages.

CHILDREN

The SPARK @ MPL: Fabulous Floam & Satisfying Slime, Monday, November 6, 1:00-2:00 p.m. – Make a variety of floam and slime. For school age kids up to 11 years old. Space is limited and registration required. 

The SPARK @ MPL: Toddler Art, Thursday, November 16, 10:30-11:30 p.m. – Hands-on art fun for our youngest library users. For ages 3 and under. Space is limited and registration required.

The SPARK @ MPL: No-Bake Cheesecakes, Wednesday, November 22, 2:00-3:00 p.m. – Make a no-bake cheesecake for yourself and a friend and choose from a variety of toppings to finish off your creation. For ages 7-11. Space is limited and registration is required.

The SPARK @MPL: Puppet Making Workshop, Thursday, December 28, 10:30-11:30 p.m. – Make a variety of different puppets, and test them out in our puppet theater. For school age kids up to 11 years old. Please call the library to register.

TEENS

The SPARK @ MPL: YouPaint, Saturday, November 4, 1:00-2:00 p.m. – With a blank canvas in front of you and a variety of paint colors, follow along with a YouTube video to create a work of art. Also enjoy a beverage themed around that day’s painting. For ages 12 to 17. Registration required.

The SPARK @ MPL: Mug Recipes and Custom Mugs, Monday, November 6, 3:00-4:00 p.m. – Try out a variety of recipes–from cakes, to donuts, to cinnamon rolls, to even eggs–made in coffee mugs. Also make your own custom coffee mug using etching cream. For ages 12 to 17. Space is limited and registration required.

The SPARK @ MPL: Button Trees, Saturday, November 18, 1:00-2:00 p.m. – Cindi Pregler from Cindi’s Sew & Sew in Milton will guide participants through simple sewing techniques to make their own button trees. Space is limited and registration is required. For ages 9-12.

The SPARK @ MPL: YouPaint, Saturday, December 2, 1:00-2:00 p.m. – With a blank canvas in front of you and a variety of paint colors, follow along with a YouTube video to create a wintery work of art. Also enjoy a beverage themed around that day’s painting. For ages 12 to 17. Registration required.

The SPARK @ MPL: Lego Mindstorm, Monday, December 4, 5:00-6:00 p.m. – Student SPARK Mentor, Nick, will guide participants through coding block functions using Lego Mindstorm. For students in grades 6-8. Space is limited and registration is required.

The SPARK @ MPL: Hour-of-code, Tuesday, December 5, 5:00-6:00 p.m. – Visit the library for a special program during 2017 Computer Science Education Week. Learn to make your own video games using Scratch. For ages 10-16. Space is limited and registration is required.

ADULTS

The SPARK at Milton Public Library: DIY Washer Necklaces, Wednesday, December 6 at 6 p.m. – Turn regular hardware washers into wearable works of art. Would make a great Christmas gift too! For adults 18 & up. Space is limited. Please register by December 1.

The SPARK at Milton Public Library: DIY Dip Mix, Monday, December 18 at 6 p.m. – Sample some dips and learn how to make your own dry mix just in time for the holidays. Learn how to package the mix into the perfect little gift as well. For adults 18 & up. Registration required by December 15
